Commercial Assistant
A unique and exciting Commercial Assistant role has arisen with our client; a well known global drinks organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or equivalent, who speaks fluent Spanish and has some commercial experience in either the drinks or wider FMCG market. You will be based in Madrid working as part of a team and reporting into the Regional Managing Director.
The role is primarily focused on commercial and administrative support to the Regional Managing Director and the team, providing a variety of different support activities. Activity will be focused across the key geographics of Spain, Greece, Portugal and Italy. The successful candidate will work closely with the Scotland based markets and will be required to travel to Scotland on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Show an ability to manage ad hoc commercial projects as well as providing commercial insight & present this information to the team, enabling the team to make more informed decisions
Compiling monthly sales summaries for key markets in the region including SAP reporting
Organising visits for distributors in Scotland and the Caribbean
Processing, checking and managing in-market invoices and A&P claims
Working closely with in-market distributors to facilitate the administration involved
Ordering and supplying brand POS and any promotional materials
Reviewing monthly market forecasts and liaising with SCC function
Using commercial awareness to report on market trades and new branding opportunities
Travel organisiation and diary management
Budget management and reconciliation of expenses
Acting as a representative for the company in the absence of management
Attending forums and company meetings and being the main representative for Southern Europe teams
Liaising with suppliers and client base to build relationships
For this role we are looking for someone with a commercial flair and a passion for working in a globally recognised organisation. Strong analytical and numerical skills are essential, as is the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle a varied and busy workload. The successful candidate should be a self starter with a confident and adaptable approach to new challenges. You will be fluent in Spanish and English with excellent computer skills including excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint. The role may also involve regular travel so a degree of flexibility will be required.
