The PR & Events function plays a key role in the Customer Marketing team, working closely with a number of internal functions: customer marketing, brands marketing and sales as well as working closely with the partner PR agency, internal and third-party events contacts. In order to deliver the company’s mission to deliver dynamic profitable growth in the UK, the PR & Events Manager will work closely with all of marketing to ensure the strategic plans are aligned. You will become an expert in the PR needs and opportunities of the portfolio as well as the respective brands in a way that differentiates them in a highly competitive commercial arena.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the PR strategy in partnership with the appointed PR agency
  • Take responsibility for the management of the press office in partnership with key focus brands in the portfolio
  • Lead implementation of whisky category report to customers and trade media – engaging a cross functional team and external agencies to launch successfully
  • Lead PR briefing process and evaluation across all brands and relevant customer PR opportunities
  • Overall responsibility and management of key internal events including SMAP (Sales and marketing activation planning), company conference and dinner
  • Management and facilitation of company sponsorships across the channels including trade titles, channel events and brand partnerships where relevant
  • Responsibility for all risk management of internal events
  • Coordination of all corporate entertainment packages
  • Overall responsibility and management of allocated budget to this team including accurate forecasting, spend and review
  • Management and coaching of the PR and Events Executive to ensure key deliverables are met and development plans are supported

Denholm are delighted to be supporting Edrington-Beam Suntory UK as they begin recruitment for one of their most strategically important roles in the business, the Marketing Manager for The Famous Grouse. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Marketing function and is responsible for driving the UK strategic agenda, commercial, and brand strategy delivery across all elements of the marketing mix.

The Famous Grouse Family Marketing Manager is responsible for the creation and delivery of the UK Strategy for The Famous Grouse, and for managing the execution of the plans through the UK Brand Manager and Rugby Activation Manager. The Famous Grouse is at a pivotal moment with a significant investment in a new consumer recruitment strategy involving various high-profile rugby partners.

The role will leverage the partnerships and learnings from Year One to ensure that the recruitment objectives are achieved over the coming years and that a clear and compelling vision is set for future brand growth. On this priority Power Brand, you will own the commercial delivery in order to deliver the global shareholder and Edrington-Beam Suntory UK budget. This will involve the on-going performance management of all elements of the UK P&L.

You will also be responsible for nurturing a collaborative working relationship with the Global Team, ensuring the UK has key influence, input and role in Global Strategy. In turn, you will be responsible for the UK Brand Plan and overseeing the implementation of local brand strategy through to excellent execution and post-analysis performance/review. As a Brand Expert you will inspire teams across the business and will lead and deliver seasonal marketing activation planning process to ensure our plans are delivered within our customer planning cycles and operational needs.

Roles of this scale and profile are rare to the Scottish marketplace and as such, this is not an opportunity to be missed. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Whisky will create and drive a comprehensive and strategic brand plan including positioning, range architecture and pricing strategy to allow delivery of the business growth ambitions. You will have a background of working with premium spirits and be confident in launching NPD and range extensions across the global marketplace, ensuring alignment to the brand values through promotional toolkits. In addition to a background in brand-building, with the consumer at the heart of global activations, you will have experience of leading brand communications across all platforms including digital, sponsorship, PR and Events.

Sponsorship & Events Manager

The Loch Lomond Group are seeking a commercially-savvy Sponsorship and Events Manager to join the marketing team.

You will be responsible for developing Loch Lomond Group's sponsorship and events strategy and delivering a program of activities and partnerships that will support the business growth ambitions.
