Denholm is excited to be partnering with a highly regarded not-fot-profit organisation headquartered in Edinburgh who have an opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Accountant to join the team as Assistant Finance Officer. They are looking for a driven and experienced individual to work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of the finance function and to maintain financial controls. You will hold responsibility for providing financial support to the wider finance team including purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing, managing payments, bank reconciliations and supporting month-end. Other responsibilities within the role include managing the accounts inbox and communicating with external bodies to support with financial queries, statements, and financial information for awards and grants, processing expenses and managing employee credit card statements. You will be a strong communicator who has the ability to build effective working relationships with the wider finance team and key stakeholders to provide regular support with financial queries.
You will ideally be degree qualified or equivalent within accounting or bookkeeping. Experience of working in a Finance department within an accounting or bookkeeping role is essential for this position. Knowledge and experience of SAGE and Excel is advantageous. You will bring strong communication and organisational skills to the role with experience of meeting deadlines. Study support will be provided if required.
