Denholm is delighted to be partnering with The Prince’s Foundation to bring to market a newly created, unique Head of Commercial opportunity supporting the fantastic work they do as an organisation.
An educational charity that provides holistic solutions to challenges facing the world today, they champion a sustainable approach to how we live our lives and build our communities as well as running a diverse programme of education and training for all ages and backgrounds. They also regenerate and care for places where communities thrive and visitors enjoy.
“Respecting the past, building the future” – This is clear to see within the stunning surroundings of Dumfries House across their 2,000 acres estate, where the Head of Commercial will take a lead on developing and managing their commercial activities in order to generate income to help support their charitable activities. As well as Dumfries House and visitor tours, on-site they have an award-winning 5* B&B as well as self-catering cottages, restaurant, café/visitor shop as well as magnificent event space. Whilst your core focus would be driving engagement across these areas, there will also be the opportunity to use your creativity and ideas to look at other income streams.
Opportunities like this genuinely don’t come around often!
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading the day-to-day delivery of the hospitality business and managing commercial activities to drive income for charitable activities
- Developing new opportunities and strategies for the hospitality business
- Manage all aspects of the commercial departments – leading a talented and passionate team
- Preparing proposals for clients
- Full budget responsibilities ensuring cost lines perform to plan
Given the close contact with your teams and venues, this role will predominantly be based on-site at Dumfries House. As such, would suit someone close to the area or someone looking to relocate for a unique opportunity like this.
Extensive experience gained within a multidisciplinary hospitality business is essential here. You’ll need to come with an understanding of the workings within catering – such as margins/overheads – and a big focus on business/commercial. As an organisation, they pride themselves on providing an award-winning 5* service to everyone they come in contact with – whether that is King Charles (who visits regularly!) or a personal event being held on site.
One thing that really jumped out to me when I met them was the passion coming from everyone who works there. Everyone genuinely takes pride in the work they do there and the difference the work they do makes to people’s lives.
If this sounds like you and you’d like to know more about this rare opportunity, please contact Scott @ Denholm for more information.
