Denholm are delighted to be working with our FMCG client on a great opportunity for a Senior Business Change Project Manager.
This role sits on the business side and therefore I am NOT looking for IT / Technical project managers.
This role is being offered on a hybrid working basis. Our clients has exceptional city centre offices in Glasgow and they currently operate on 50% office / 50% home working.
Accountabilities:
- Project Management Full project life cycle ownership
- Engage with key stakeholders to define and document project scope, objectives and desired outcome.
- Develop project specifications, agree the project plan baseline including critical path, key activities, milestones and deadlines.
- Estimate resource requirements, acquire these effectively and manage efficiently.
- Establish project teams and project boards as necessary to ensure effective project governance and there is sufficient senior engagement, resource and specialist knowledge to be successful.
- Ensure team members are informed, have clear goals and work collaboratively with other stakeholders to achieve planned outcomes.
- Manage relationships amongst stakeholders by building confidence and trust with clear professional communications and assured expectation management.
- Apply best practice techniques, tailoring the approach according to the circumstances.
- Employ project management tools and reporting to manage the project and update stakeholders.
- Lead workshops as required with the project team and other key stakeholders e.g. project definition, process mapping, customer journey and training purposes
- Lead regular project reviews to monitor progress vs. plan, drive project execution, track delivery, manage change and pro-actively address blockers.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies throughout the project.
- Escalate any that require senior involvement, providing clear options, assessment and recommendations.
- Manage any external suppliers brought in to play their role in delivering project outputs.
- Manage and control project budgets as necessary.
- Confident in leading others through uncertainty, with the ability to assess situations clearly and accurately, ask relevant questions, detect potential issues before they arise and resolve conflicts before they threaten to derail the project.
Change Management
- Apply change management processes and tools to create a change adoption strategy for each project.
- Integrate change management activities into project planning. Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications.
- Identify key stakeholders, conduct impact analyses and assess change readiness.
- Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs.
Ideal candidate experience
- Advanced project management and change management skills, experienced in leading complex global projects/programmes involving a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A proven track record of managing external delivery partners effectively across distributed sites.
- An engaging leader with presence, experienced at bringing people together to achieve shared goals.
- An approachable individual who readily wins trust and forms strong working relationships with others, able to operate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
- Excellent communication, influencing, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex problems in a non-technical and simplified manner.
- Ability to review situations holistically, rationally assessing different inputs and perspectives.
- Prepared to challenge the status quo and displays sound judgement.
- Hands on experience working in a variety of business areas to develop cross-functional knowledge.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful scenarios and uncertainty.
- A lateral thinker and problem solver, who displays a natural aptitude for continual improvement.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to cope with competing demands and a proven track record of meeting deadlines and prioritising workload effectively.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
