Head of Business Development



£45k base plus excellent bonus

A leading national training provider is looking for a Head of Business Development to join their team in an exciting and autonomous newly created role. 

You can be based remotely, but must be willing to travel throughout England as your team and client accounts will be dotted throughout this region. 

As Head of Business Development, you'll work very closely with the Group Sales Director and the CEO to create and deliver a comprehensive sales strategy. You'll be responsible for managing the sales team and you'll work alongside the account management and delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from contract to delivery. 

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Implementing the sales strategy for the effective engagement of current and prospect business accounts
  • Generating new business leads across England, and ensuring that all leads are capitalised on - by way of cold calling, new business meetings, pitches and presentations and tendering
  • Managing key accounts and ensuring that a first-class service is delivered
  • Conducting needs analysis for customers and producing solution-based propositions as part of a consultative sell process.
  • Direct line management of the sales teams and responsibility for their coaching, training and development.
  • Working with colleagues in marketing to ensure that content and campaign activity is engaging, and that sales and marketing activities are aligned
  • Driving continual sales process improvements and implementing best practice across the business
  • Producing regular reports for the Board and senior colleagues

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • 5+ years of consultative business development experience 
  • 2+ years of experience selling into HR professionals
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Creativity, and experience drafting compelling presentations and pitches
  • A hungry sales attitude, keen to close a deal!
