Crucial Drinks is an award-winning drinks business based in Scotland. Innovation is at the heart of what we do. We operate across different spirits categories building our brands in every corner of the world.
We are working in partnership with Crucial Drinks on a rare opportunity to join a high growth spirits business at a key stage in their development.
"They have developed and established a unique range of whisky and spirits brands and are now ready to drive real volume growth across a number of international markets with the aim of tripling revenue over the next few years."
To ensure this fast growth is managed and sustainable, they are looking to strengthen the leadership team through the appointment of a Financial Manager/Controller who will work closely with the Directors of the business.
Your role will mix the day to day management of a small team within the business alongside the responsibility for advising the Directors on all financial matters and in particular, managing/providing transparency over cash management.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination and production of the annual phased budget for the year as well as monthly period reporting including balance sheet, P&L and cash flow. In addition, you will manage the balance sheet including key reconciliations and cut-off procedures together with robust control over stock balances.
With every day providing new opportunities and challenges within this fast moving world of spirits, you will provide pro-active ad-hoc financial analysis including investment decisions and margin calculations for current and prospective customers as well as future P&L and cash projections beyond the current financial year.
You will be a qualified/part qualified accountant and have worked in a small/medium sized company previously. We are ideally looking for some experience within the spirits/drinks sector but will also consider the wider FMCG manufacturing sector. If you could bring a background including working within a business that exports outside of the United Kingdom, that would be ideal.
As a minimum, you will have experience of managing a P&L and balance sheet and must be able to put controls in place to ensure accurate monthly reporting of the financial statements. Given the unique stage of their growth, the successful individual will relish the opportunity to contribute across a range of issues both inside and outside of finance.
The business is keen to attract an individual who can be a valued member of the leadership team and who will see this as a longer term project that will deliver increasing rewards as the business grows. A fantastic opportunity and one not to be missed!
