Central to continuing this, will be the appointment of a strategic and commercial marketing leader who can establish a sophisticated and joined up digital strategy. This will maximise income through e-commerce platforms and ensuring these are aligned to, and consistent with their clear brand position, messaging and experience.
The role will report to the Managing Director and will assume full end-to-end ownership of the successful eCommerce function and will include Sales, Marketing & Customer Service departments, for the UK & EU. The role will be responsible for developing marketing & Ecommerce strategies, with a focus on digital development and incorporating creative and unique marketing techniques to increase brand engagement, especially around CRO, AOV & CRM. You will be responsible for managing the full offline & online marketing mix, including SEO, PPC social, brand management and creative marketing. This will be allied to a strong commercial understanding as the role will also take on P&L responsibility for key sales channels. Over time, the role will include responsibility of further International websites and develop other Brand eCommerce sites.
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader and influencer, with strong all-round marketing and eCommerce experience and a desire to be hands on and lead by example, with the tenacity to drive the business into the next chapter of significant growth. You must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of both Digital & Brand marketing alongside a strong commercial acumen. You will bring an insight driven approach and will also relish coaching and developing a multi-functional team.

Reporting to and supported by the Operations Director, the EMD Manager will proactively and autonomously lead and work with the European Country Managers to deliver the SMWS Member Value Proposition and create memorable whisky experiences through wide-ranging activations across Partner Bars, festivals and tastings to generate membership growth and whisky sales. The focus lies in 6 key markets; UK, Germany, Sweden, France, Benelux and Austria with development in additional countries growing over time.
