HR Business Partner

Denholm Associates are absolutely delighted to be working exclusively with one of the most admired and recognised names in the FMCG area. Due to the success of the business and the corresponding recruitment drive, this is a business that looks very different from even one year ago. From 170 employees in October 2021, they now sit at 230.
As a result, they are looking to recruit a number of HR professionals and the main area of focus, where we have been retained to support, is finding a new People (HR) Business Partner. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Operations Management Team, supporting them to achieve business objectives and partnering with them on all ‘people matters’ from talent management, culture and change. In addition, as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the HRBP will also support the day to day running of the People department, acting as the ‘number two’ to the Head of People.

Main responsibilities are as follows:-

  • A key member of the Operations Management Team, understanding their needs and developing and deploying key people practices supporting their objectives, such as development wheels, the goal review cycle or Rising Talent/ Early Careers programmes
  • Number two in the People Department, playing a key role in developing and driving the annual people plan, representing the people team during exec meetings as required
  • Partners with the operations management team to support and embed change throughout the factory, engaging the wider people team and key stakeholders
  • Partners with and coaches managers to develop engaged high performing teams who work well with each other and with other teams throughout the business
  • Partners with managers to define their talent needs for now and in the future, supporting recruitment and people development, and enabling the deployment of the Rising Talent early careers programme
  • Partners with our Continuous improvement team to deploy the training framework throughout operations
  • Facilitates internal communication meets, overseeing the company communication framework and championing strong 2-way communication throughout the company
  • Supports and champions people manager development, putting in place learning and development solutions, including the development and delivery of internal training as necessary
  • Accountable for ensuring that all people policies, procedures and systems meet business needs and comply with relevant employment law legislation, as supported by the wider People Team
  • Responsible for enabling partner managers to handle employee relations cases, such as absence, disciplinary, grievance and flexible working requests, producing support, tools and relevant documentation as required.

Other responsibilities will involve:-

  • Taking on “people manager” responsibilities
  • Payroll
  • Operational training

The ‘ideal’ candidate:-

  • CIPD qualified
  • Significant experience in an HR generalist role, partnering with people managers
  • Broad HR generalist experience, understanding how HR can support business objectives
  • Broad knowledge of HR best practice across talent management, recruitment, employee relations and L&D
  • Strong change management experience
  • Proficient IT skills, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in an HRBP role
  • People Manager experience
  • Experience in a similar fast-paced environment, such as manufacturing or logistics
  • Experience working in an SME

  • Ability to adapt to quickly build relationships at all levels and positively influence business partners to make the right decisions for the business
  • Ability to coach & provide feedback to key stakeholders
  • Determination to questions & challenge others to get to the root of people & business issues
  • Taking a proactive approach to providing people expertise
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret and understand people data (e.g. absence trends, engagement data, retention data) to help drive key decision-making

Communication Lead

Your core duties will include:

  • Developing strong relationships with clients, colleagues and associates
  • Producing high quality pitches and proposals to secure new business

You’ll be a skilled communicator, interested and knowledgeable about the key issues shaping the external environment. In addition, to be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience within an agency or consultancy
  • Experience in Energy, Renewables, Financial Services or Life Sciences would be very desirable
  • Outstanding writing skills and the ability to engage and excite an audience
  • An impressive track record of client attraction, retention and growth 
  • The ability to thrive fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously

Communication Advisors

We’re a passionate and professional team who thrive in issue-rich environment and we’re looking for Senior Communication Advisors, Communications Advisors and Communications Executives to join their fast-growing team. 

You’ll have previous agency experience at Senior Account Manager or Account Manager level and be passionate about delivering excellent results for clients. You might be a specialist in PR and media relations who produces compelling editorial content across a range of topics and sectors or you might be a public affairs expert who understands the policy landscape and helps clients build influential relationships. Whatever your specialism, you’ll be an excellent writer, full of creative ideas, with proven client management experience and the ability to provide expert advice our clients.

Your key duties will include:

  • Supporting the key account lead with day-to-day client liaison, providing strategic counsel on day-to-day account matters when required
  • Active involvement in planning and delivering global PR, marketing and digital campaigns
  • Managing content programmes, including mapping out content themes, spotting industry trends and story angles, writing copy when required which may include opinion articles, web and social
  • Building strong media relationships, creating pitches based on your story ideas and delivering content in-to suit the client’s target media and securing opportunities
  • Planning and running client’s social media programmes, and management of their channels
  • Continuously identifying opportunities to grow brand awareness and profile our client’s businesses within their target sector through events, webinars, thought leadership
  • Producing comprehensive and timely reports on client activity 
  • Supporting in the development of client proposals to help grow or win parts of the business


In addition, to be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven background in account handling and direct client liaison – 4 years’ minimum
  • Experience in an agency setting focusing on B2B communication or PR
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • A background in delivering creative, digitally led B2B communications such as LinkedIn campaigns
  • An innate understanding of earned media, with the ability to create stories and generate coverage across traditional media, digital and social
  • Experience working on content management programmes, with an awareness of the changing way business audiences consume information and an appreciation of search, paid and wider customer marketing activity, and how it all fits together
  • A history of working with clients in a variety of sectors is welcomed but experience in the tech and energy industries is advantageous.

Counterfeiting is a significant economic and social issue.

The OECD reports that counterfeit and fake goods make up more than 3.3% of the world’s global trade. Those involved in the trade of counterfeits have been linked to people trafficking, prostitution, and drug dealing.

As such, reducing illicit trade is about much more than brand protection but also about human rights, safety, and social equity.
