We are working in partnership with Gordon and MacPhail to find an experienced Production Manager that will be based in Elgin. This will be a varied role and the business are happy to consider individuals based with within easy reach of the site, as well as supporting someone who is looking for or would consider a move to Speyside, one of the most picturesque areas of the country, and the heart of Scotland's Whisky industry.
The role will report to the Head of Supply Chain and is a key role, directly linked to the delivery of the G&M annual and long-term plan. It will take responsibility for all areas of production, from conversion and processing of spirit, bottling and packing of finished goods. This will include the Vat Hall operation from cask being emptied for bottling, through to Bottling and Quality. The role requires a broad experience of managing a fast-moving production environment and incorporates a need for a good understanding of quality, continuous improvement as well as maintenance.
You will lead and develop a team of around 10 as well as playing a significant role across the business as you will be working with teams across the business from purchasing and planning through to commercial. With the business focused on a lot of single batch, high end and premium products, the position will manage complex and varied processes as your team will be dealing with up to 700SKU's.
We are looking for an experienced manager who can bring a background of working in glass filling and labelling, ideally within the whisky industry, but we are open to other craft beer or spirits backgrounds as well. You will be educated to degree level, or with comparable experience in supply chain or manufacturing within a complex environment that requires an ability to problem solve and work collaboratively with your team and across the other key departments to achieve results. You will be able to demonstrate strong people management and leadership as you will motivate and drive the team.
