Pioneering Whisky Makers

Whisky making at Whyte & Mackay is led by respected whisky maker Gregg Glass, alongside Master Distiller Mr. Richard Paterson OBE, who together have led new product development with a series of new releases in recent years. In 2019, Whyte and Mackay Light – a lighter spirit drink from Scotland, was released, alongside a number of award-winning new expressions across the Single Malt Whisky portfolio.

Community Partnerships

Whyte & Mackay are official partners to SAMH – Scottish Association for Mental Health. In 2020, Whyte and Mackay employees worldwide completed a virtual-race-around-the-world to raise awareness for the charity. 

Whyte and Mackay were publicly recognised by the First Minister of Scotland in 2020 for their support of the national pandemic response, after they supplied hand sanitiser to NHS Scotland and charity partners across Scotland.

Global Presence

Founded in Glasgow 1844, the whisky makers recently celebrated their 175-year anniversary. Today, Whyte & Mackay have offices from New York to Singapore.

In Scotland, Whyte & Mackay operate a state-of-the-art Bottling Hall and Distribution Centre in Grangemouth and a Whisky Production and Warehousing Centre in Invergordon. The Digital Discovery Team are based in the Glasgow headquarters.

Whyte & Mackay is a global premium spirits business who are curious, courageous and positive in the face of ambiguity. It has been five years since they launched their first digital strategy and today, to ‘Inspire and Engage Consumers’ is one of the strategic imperatives for their whisky making business. Digital Discovery is a fundamental building block in how they build brands and deliver commercial growth.

A key role within the Digital Discovery team will be the Performance Marketing Manager who will be a Demand Generation Specialist tasked with driving the Recruitment / Conversion / Analysis across all strategic brand and market initiatives.

You will combine Owned / Paid / Earned insights to optimise Search performance across identified Geographies for the strategic brands. This is a unique role in the business which will help ensure that the team are delivering against the company vision to be a driving force, renowned for building brands that stand out (online.)

You will be:

  • The subject matter expert in data-driven digital amplification
  • A key voice in how Whyte & Mackay increase online discovery and purchase for our brands
  • A digital channel expert in paid search and paid social, ideally with an understanding of programmatic
  • A practical understanding of data, technical analytics
  • Able to develop direction to Brand and Market Teams on best practice
  • Able to influence and empower Market Teams to deliver excellent digital outputs
  • Able to drive excellence through clearly articulated digital marketing plans and toolkits
  • Able to play a proactive role in the development of integrated campaigns
  • Able to translate technical solutions to non-technical audiences

Whyte & Mackay are looking to recruit a talented Digital Manager who will be the technical platform lead across owned online destinations and technical support for agreed local customer initiatives in Drive/Develop markets. You will lead the upgrade and management of all websites / CMS to optimise Search performance and own the platform integration for Consumer Marketing Digital Solutions. You will help ensure Whyte & Mackay are delivering against the company vision to be a driving force, renowned for building brands that stand out across the online platforms.

You will be:

  • The owner of our consumer and marketing digital platforms development
  • A digital channel expert in websites, email marketing, ideally with a practical understanding of eCommerce platforms
  • Able to brief, develop and deliver technical analytics to ensure accurate measurement of digital marketing
  • Able to drive digital projects to completion with clear stakeholder communication and strong agency management skill
  • Able to translate technical solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Able to develop digital solutions to internal stakeholder briefs from Brand Team
  • Curious about the digital landscape and ‘always learning’ mindset

DIGITAL PROGRAM MANAGER

JOB TITLE

Denholm are delighted to be working exclusively with Loch Lomond Group; one of the most exciting and fast-growing global spirits companies in the country. To assist with their growth ambitions, they are looking to recruit a commercially astute and strategic marketer to join their team in a newly created role, as Head of Whisky Marketing.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Whisky will create and drive a comprehensive and strategic brand plan including positioning, range architecture and pricing strategy to allow delivery of the business growth ambitions. You will have a background of working with premium spirits and be confident in launching NPD and range extensions across the global marketplace, ensuring alignment to the brand values through promotional toolkits. In addition to a background in brand-building, with the consumer at the heart of global activations, you will have experience of leading brand communications across all platforms including digital, sponsorship, PR and Events.

The Head of Whisky will be a visionary thinker and will bring passion and enthusiasm to the role. You will have the ability to nurture and lead a high performing team to ensure that all strategic plans are translated into commercially successful activations.

Sponsorship & Events Manager

The Loch Lomond Group are seeking a commercially-savvy Sponsorship and Events Manager to join the marketing team.

You will be responsible for developing Loch Lomond Group's sponsorship and events strategy and delivering a program of activities and partnerships that will support the business growth ambitions. Other responsibilities include managing renewals and negotiations, overseeing communication with sponsors as well as aligning business and market needs.

The Sponsorship & Events Manager is a key role in the business.
