OUR STORY

Paul Miller established the Eden Mill distillery in 2012 on the banks of the Eden Estuary in St Andrews, it was the first distillery to make spirits in the region in over 150 years. Today, Eden Mill has a wonderful Gin portfolio crafted from the finest botanicals, many foraged from here in and around St Andrews and a unique selection of limited release Single Malts.

Moving forward, Eden Mill have an ambition to create the finest gins and Scotch Whiskies with minimal environmental impact combining traditional distilling techniques with ground-breaking innovation. Eden Mill are building a stunning new distillery at the mouth of the river Eden, overlooking the iconic, historic town of St Andrews. The new distillery sits at the heart of the University of St Andrews Eden Campus, a unique site dedicated to zero carbon and sustainable businesses and research.

THE ST ANDREWS LINK

St Andrews is the renowned home of golf, and the arts of brewing and distilling were once integral to the town. Based on the site of a historic distillery on the banks of the River Eden, Eden Mill were the first to make spirits in the region for 150 years.

Few distilleries are as fortunate as us. We have the paradise of the Eden Estuary on the doorstep, and we source botanicals from the local fields, forests and coasts to represent the best of Scotland. In 2015, we launched our Golf Gin in homage to this. Our goal is to further the spirit and provenance of St Andrews, and with this in mind, we invite you to share our passion.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our state of the art distillery, planned to open 2023, will be located within the University of St. Andrews’ Eden Campus; power and heat for the stills will be supplied by the University’s biomass plant and solar panels on the distillery’s roof. Building our new distillery aligns with our want to decrease our carbon footprint as much as possible. We are always striving to create new, innovative and unique ways to improve the sustainability of our products and packaging. We have introduced our new bespoke, lightweight glass bottle to replace some of our classic ceramic bottles within our gin range.  These new glass bottles are 18% less glass than an industry-standard glass bottle, which results in less waste to begin with. All of our new glass bottles are easily recycled and are created and made in the UK, which results in a low carbon footprint.

EDEN MILL WHISKY

The Eden Mill story encompasses the uncompromising approach we take in making our whisky. With the history of distilling on our site, the heritage and reputation of St Andrews and the industry experience of our founder we are on a mission to create the ultimate small batch Single malt whisky ranges for discerning drinkers to enjoy. In 2018 Eden Mill released the first Single Malt whisky to be distilled in St Andrews in over 150 years. The First Bottling was sold at auction and broke the world record for a first release, at £7,100.

ORDINARY JUST ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

Both Eden Mill and Gordon Ramsay only work with the very best ingredients, and their new premium gin crafted in collaboration is no exception. Ramsay’s Gin is a delicious new take on the classic London Dry Gin and is inspired by the taste of Scotland.

Gordon journeyed along Scotland’s wild coastline through St Andrews and Fife to select remarkable, native ingredients and worked together with our award-winning distillery to create a Gin bursting with flavour.

Eden Mill are excited to announce we are hiring a Business Development Manager and an International Sales Specialist to help grow the Eden Mill brand nationwide.

We have recently announced our sponsorship with the LTA becoming the ‘Official Spirit of British Tennis’ and have also recently collaborated on a joint venture with Gordon Ramsay to develop Ramsay’s Gin – an innovative London Dry style gin using local, Scottish botanicals. Gordon has been integral to the process including hand selecting the botanicals.

Due to the growth of Eden Mill and our partnerships we are looking to expand our sales team to grow the brand within the On Trade and Prestige retail sector.

We’re looking for team members that are solution focused, results driven and understand how to operate in trade as a premium challenger brand. Our team members enjoy the variety the role brings working with direct P&L responsibility and indirect sales and have the energy and entrepreneurial drive to be successful.

Role Purpose:

To be a key member of the sales team, responsible for growing Sales within a geographical area, through customer management of direct and indirect Wholesalers, Independent Retail, Key Accounts and IFT

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute as a key member of the Sales team
  • Create and implement account plans that grow distribution, status and visibility for Eden Mill in the On Trade and Prestige Retail Accounts.
  • Develop Regional Wholesaler status and ways of working to support driving new distribution and volume including days in trade, trade events and promotional activity.

Haider recently graduated with a degree in Accounting and Finance and has gathered experience in the finance industry through internships and previous jobs. He will be using all the skills he has acquired through his previous experiences to assist the finance department with gathering data and providing analysis that will help the business expand.

Communication Lead

Communication Advisors

We’re a passionate and professional team who thrive in issue-rich environment and we’re looking for Senior Communication Advisors, Communications Advisors and Communications Executives to join their fast-growing team. 

You’ll have previous agency experience at Senior Account Manager or Account Manager level and be passionate about delivering excellent results for clients. Your key duties will include:

Our Purpose

Our aim is to combat illicit online trade by identifying and removing counterfeits for sale. Counterfeits not only damage brands, their reputations, and revenues, but can cause significant harm to the end customer – whether as a fake toy or a fake medicine – and the consequences can be life threatening.

Counterfeiting is a significant economic and social issue.

The OECD reports that counterfeit and fake goods make up more than 3.3% of the world’s global trade. Those involved in the trade of counterfeits have been linked to people trafficking, prostitution, and drug dealing.

As such, reducing illicit trade is about much more than brand protection but also about human rights, safety, and social equity.

And this is what we do, every day.

Our Environment

We deliver purpose-driven work from an extremely welcoming environment near the City Centre. We actively encourage the responsible use of resources, from using public transport to reuse, recycling, and, of course, a minimal impact office environment. We have benefited from the advice of the Energy Saving Trust and Resource Efficient Scotland. Our waste contractor also provides us with a monthly report on volumes and types of material and the carbon emissions avoided through recycling.

Over 80% of our employees can walk or cycle to The Lair and, pre-pandemic, 10% were using public transport as their normal daily commuting mode. Without doubt, online meetings will replace considerable miles, going forward, saving resources, time and energy. Where possible, when possible, the train remains our preferred option.

Zoe joined Denholm in 2022 as Recruitment Administrator, after working in administration roles for nearly a decade. Most recently within the recruitment industry, she joins us with experience of supporting consultants, clients and candidates at all levels. Zoe has a passion for helping people and applies her positive attitude and approachable manner to support our team and deliver the best possible service to our clients and candidates at all times.

As well as working in close collaboration with our clients, and the online marketplaces, we are active members of groups that have been established to combat illicit trade. These include the Scottish Anti-Illicit Trade Group, the European Intellectual Property Office, The Scottish Business Resilience Centre, the Anti-Counterfeiting Group, and the China Britain Business Council. Members of our senior management sit on the boards of ACID (Anti-Copying in Design), the Scottish Ministerial Trade Board, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s Observatory Panel for SMEs, amongst others.
