Job Ref: 11095

Sales Executive – Cloud & AI Technology

Glasgow | Hybrid / Flexible Working | £35,000–£40,000 + Commission | Four-Day Week

Denholm Associates is delighted to be working with a key client, an established and growing cloud technology consultancy, to recruit a Sales Executive into their commercial team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious junior to mid-level B2B salesperson who wants to develop their career within one of the fastest-moving areas of technology – Cloud, Data and AI.

Our client works with organisations to transform how they operate through cloud technology, digital collaboration, data and increasingly AI. They combine technology solutions with consultancy, professional services and ongoing support.

We’re particularly keen to speak with candidates who already have experience within the Google Workspace or Google Cloud ecosystem, but this isn't essential.

If you've sold within AWS, Microsoft Azure, SaaS, managed services, IT services or another cloud technology environment, we'd also be very interested in speaking with you.

The opportunity

Working closely with an experienced Sales Director and wider technical team, you'll develop new business opportunities and gradually take greater ownership of your own customers, pipeline and commercial results.

You'll be involved throughout the sales process – identifying prospects, opening conversations, understanding customer requirements, developing opportunities and ultimately converting them into new business.

This is a consultative sales role, rather than simply selling a predefined product.

You'll learn how to understand a customer's business challenges and work with technical specialists to demonstrate how cloud, data and AI solutions can help solve them.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Building and managing your own sales pipeline
  • Prospecting and engaging potential customers
  • Running discovery conversations to understand business requirements
  • Developing relationships with decision-makers and senior stakeholders
  • Selling technology solutions, professional services and ongoing support
  • Working alongside technical specialists to develop customer solutions
  • Presenting proposals and commercial recommendations
  • Negotiating and closing new business
  • Maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline information
  • Developing existing customer relationships and identifying further opportunities
  • Building your knowledge across Cloud, Data and AI

Who we're looking for

We're deliberately keeping the experience level relatively open.

You might be an SDR, BDR, Account Executive, Sales Executive, Business Development Executive or Junior Account Manager who has built a strong foundation in technology sales and is now ready for greater responsibility.

Alternatively, you may already be managing your own sales opportunities and want to move into a specialist cloud environment with excellent long-term career potential.

Ideally, you'll have experience within one or more of the following:

Google Workspace | Google Cloud Platform (GCP) | AWS | Microsoft Azure | SaaS | Managed Services | IT Services | Cloud Consultancy | Data & Analytics | AI

Direct Google experience would be particularly attractive, but it's certainly not a prerequisite. We're equally interested in people who understand how to sell technology consultatively and are genuinely interested in developing their cloud knowledge.

We're looking for someone who is curious, commercially ambitious and comfortable speaking with customers.

You'll ask good questions, listen properly and be interested in understanding the business problem rather than simply pushing a product.

You'll also be comfortable working with a CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce and understand the importance of good pipeline management and forecasting.

Why consider it?

There are some genuinely unusual benefits attached to this opportunity.

You'll be joining an established technology consultancy operating at the intersection of Cloud, Data and AI, giving you exposure to technologies that are rapidly changing how organisations operate.

You'll work alongside experienced technical specialists, receive support to develop your knowledge and have dedicated time for professional development.

The business offers considerable autonomy and flexibility and has created a supportive culture where people are trusted to manage their own work.

And perhaps most notably, following successful completion of your initial three-month onboarding period, you'll move onto a four-day working week.

The package

£35,000–£40,000 basic salary + competitive commission structure, alongside:

  • Four-day working week following successful onboarding
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • 24 days' holiday including floating bank holidays
  • Enhanced pension contributions
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Home-working equipment support
  • Professional development support
  • Latest technology and equipment
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Electric car scheme
  • Wellbeing support and membership
  • Regular team socials and events

Interested?

If you're currently building your career in technology sales and would like the opportunity to move further into Cloud, Data and AI, we'd love to hear from you.

You don't need to arrive as a Google Cloud expert.

We're looking for someone with the sales foundations, curiosity and ambition to become one.
