Our vision is to bake the tastiest, healthy oat based products in the most sustainable way.
Two Edinburgh bakeries, built on family values
Over 125 years of Scottish baking heritage
Exported to over 40 countries
UK's largest oatcake and leading gluten-free brand
We’ve been baking with them since 1896 when John and Sarah Nairn first opened their bakery in Strathaven, Lanarkshire. Since then our range and team has grown.
At our two Edinburgh bakeries we have a devoted team, sometimes spanning generations of local families, all proud and careful guardians of our recipes, mixing techniques and ever-growing range.
Today Nairn’s are the largest producer of oatcakes in the UK, one of the UK’s leading and most trusted gluten free brands and our range is exported to over 30 countries. Whether your favourite is a super seeded or a stem ginger you won’t have to go far to find a fellow fan.
You’ll be well looked after, not only at work, but you’ll also get personal development through training opportunities.
There is a genuine sense that our company prioritises employees’ wellbeing and wants everyone to feel comfortable approaching managers with any issues. Turnover rates have remained low as people form strong attachments to Nairn’s once joining, showing the culture fosters loyalty and connection to the business. While integrity, approachability and friendliness define daily interactions, employees also demonstrate determination in striving to perform well and progress the company forward over the long term. Overall, Nairn’s cultivates an environment where staff feel part of a cohesive team underpinned by values like flexibility, support and care for one another.
