The Royal Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh has been part of the city's story for over eight hundred years. It still is. Members meet, connect and give back through a charitable programme with real reach, and all of it runs from a working headquarters at The Merchants Hall in the heart of Edinburgh.
The team behind that community is small. What they deliver is not. This role sits at the centre of it, coordinating the membership experience, the events, and the communications that keep several hundred years of tradition feeling current.
You'll be the first voice Members hear when they call or email, and the person who turns their ideas for exhibitions, societies and workshops into something that actually happens.
This is a full-time, on-site role at The Merchants Hall in Edinburgh city centre, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Founded in 1681, the Company brings together Edinburgh's business community around a shared charitable purpose, supporting causes across the city and working alongside Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools and George Watson's College. Its home, The Merchants Hall, hosts both Company life and a commercial events business, Merchants Hall Limited.
This role exists to bring more structure and energy to how the Company engages its Members and tells its story, at a point where digital systems, communications and events all need one person joining the dots.
We're looking for someone with 6-12 months under their belt, and more importantly keen to a learn.
