Denholm Associates

Digital Content Editor

Job Ref: 11014

The opportunity you've been waiting for

Golden Charter's website and Funeral Director portal carry more weight than most digital estates. People use one to plan for the hardest moment in their family's life. Funeral Directors use the other to do their jobs, every day, across the country. When the content is wrong, vague or out of date, it creates a real problem for real people.

That's the gap this role fills. Golden Charter needs someone to own the accuracy, clarity and quality of everything published across both platforms, working closely with UX and Experience Design to turn what's designed into what actually goes live. It's a role with genuine reach: it touches every customer journey, every partner interaction, and every piece of regulated content in between.

How you'll make your mark

What you'll own

  • The accuracy and quality of every page published across the D2C website and Funeral Director portal.
  • Turning UX and design intent into content that's clear, compliant and ready to publish from day one.
  • On-page SEO hygiene across content updates, working with the SEO and Digital teams on headings, metadata and internal links.
  • CMS governance, version control and audit trails that hold up to scrutiny.
  • The relationships with Compliance, Product and Proposition teams that keep pricing and plan details accurate.

What you'll bring

  • Experience managing website content within a CMS, inside a structured publishing or governance process.
  • Strong editing skills, with the ability to take complex, regulated information and make it genuinely easy to understand.
  • An understanding of what makes digital journeys convert, and the judgement to challenge content that doesn't.
  • Confidence working across multiple stakeholders, holding the line on quality while staying easy to work with.

What's in it for you

Golden Charter backs this role properly.

  • Salary is £40,000.
  • Hybrid working: remote, with one day a week at Golden Charter's Glasgow head office.
  • 35-hour working week.
  • 28 days' leave, plus flexible bank holidays and a buy/sell scheme.
  • 6% employer pension contribution.
  • Life assurance at four times salary from day one.
  • Medicash health cover, including dental, optical, physio, a virtual GP and a 24/7 employee assistance programme.
  • A £1,000 annual Smart Flex allowance, covering gym membership, retail discounts, car leasing, Kids Pass and Gourmet Society.
  • Weekly on-site massage.

A bit more about Golden Charter

Golden Charter is one of the UK's largest funeral plan providers, working alongside a network of nearly 2,900 independent funeral directors across the country. The business is owned by an association of those same funeral directors, built specifically to protect the future of local, often family-run firms.

Golden Charter has been doing this for more than 30 years, and almost a million people have planned ahead with them. As an FCA-regulated business, accuracy and compliance sit at the centre of how every piece of content gets made.

Denholm's take

This is one of those roles where the title undersells the impact. It centres on owning the bridge between design and delivery, across two genuinely different audiences, inside a regulated business that takes its customers seriously.

If you've got CMS experience, an editor's eye and the confidence to push back on content that doesn't earn its place, we'd like to talk. Get in touch for a confidential conversation.
