The opportunity you've been waiting for
This Audit role in Glasgow puts real opportunities in your hands. You'll be the client's main point of contact on site during fieldwork, manage work delegated to junior team members, and take a key role across planning, fieldwork, and completion.
How you'll make your mark
What you'll own
- Plan and complete audit work with guidance, keeping an eye on resourcing and budget as you go.
- Take a key role across the audit team, planning fieldwork and completion, and flagging delivery issues early.
- Take on more complex audit areas during fieldwork, escalating queries to senior colleagues where you need support.
- Prepare for and contribute to planning and clearance meetings, answering queries from the team and the client directly.
- Review draft accounts, issue them to the client, and work through any queries that come back, with guidance.
- Act as the client's main point of contact on site during fieldwork, spotting where AAB's other service lines could add value.
- Manage work delegated to junior team members, staying accountable for delivery against the deadline.
- Build your grasp of recoveries, fee quotes, lock up, scope creep, and WIP, and put it to use in fee preparation and complex WIP analysis.
What you bring
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent), newly qualified or part qualified.
- Experience in a similar audit role, with exposure to client-facing work.
- Confident communication with clients and colleagues, in writing and in person.
- Comfort working to tight deadlines and making decisions on your own initiative.
What's in it for you
A salary of £45,000 reflects the level of responsibility built into this role from day one. Working is a flexible split between home and office, so you can shape your week around fieldwork and client visits.
- Annual leave plus public holidays, with the option to buy extra days or carry leave over.
- Enhanced parental leave for maternity, paternity, and adoption.
- A paid volunteering day each year for a cause that matters to you.

- Death in service benefit and life assurance for you and your family.
- A pension scheme designed to build your long-term financial security.
- Modern offices built for collaboration, focus, and proper downtime.
A bit more about this company
This is a professional services firm with more than 1,000 people across the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Audit sits alongside tax, corporate finance, payroll, people consultancy, and wealth management, giving clients one firm for issues that cross more than one specialism.
Their mid-market focus shapes the audit client base: family businesses, owner-managed companies, and organisations scaling fast, each with its own technical complexity. This role exists to bring a newly qualified auditor into that client base early, with real client contact and a team relying on you.
Denholm's take
This is a stronger first step than most newly qualified roles offer. The client-facing responsibility, the junior team members managing into you, and the exposure to fee and WIP decisions all point to a firm that trusts people early.
