Payroll Analyst

Job Ref: 11053

The contract you've been waiting for

This is your chance to join a global hospitality company with a well-known corporate presence in Glasgow. They are looking for a Payroll and Compliance Analyst to join the team on a six-month contract.

Their payroll team was recognised last year with a global industry award for excellence, so you'd be joining people who take the standard seriously and enjoy hitting it.

This is a role for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in a clean reconciliation and a compliant return. If legislation changes excite rather than exhaust you, keep reading.

How you'll make your mark

You'll own the analysis, reconciliation and reporting that keeps this payroll compliant with UK statutory requirements, working across on-cycle and off-cycle processes for employees throughout the UK.

Key deliverables

  • Deliver Benefit-in-Kind analysis and reporting, including P11Ds, PSA and Short Term Business Visitors returns.
  • Keep pension auto-enrolment compliant across multiple owner schemes, including re-enrolment and staging.
  • Produce payroll balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger journals to support SOX controls.
  • Manage specialised calculations such as SSP, SMP and additional holiday pay.
  • Act as the point of contact for HMRC queries and Office for National Statistics survey requests.
  • Build and maintain SOPs so key processes stay documented as legislation and systems evolve.

What you bring

  • Experience in an analyst role within payroll, tax or compliance.
  • Working knowledge of current UK payroll and tax compliance legislation.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Experience with an ERP finance module such as SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft.
  • Confidence interpreting new legislation and translating it into working process.

What's in it for you

This is a six-month contract based at the corporate office in Glasgow, working on a hybrid basis. Salary is [insert rate/range], and we'd recommend confirming this with your Denholm consultant before the advert goes live.

You'll also get access to discounted stays at properties worldwide, an employee share purchase scheme, and wellbeing support including free counselling. Paid time off is included for the length of the contract.

A bit more about our client

Our client is one of the world's largest hospitality companies, with a corporate footprint that spans continents and a payroll function to match. Their UK Payroll and Compliance team sits within a wider global payroll operation, working alongside colleagues in the US and India.

This role exists to support that team through a period of continued growth and legislative change, with plenty of cross-border collaboration built into the day-to-day.

Denholm's take

Payroll roles at this scale don't come around often, and a six-month contract with a global operator is a strong way to build serious compliance experience fast. If you know your P11Ds from your PSAs and want to put that knowledge to work somewhere with real infrastructure behind it, we'd like to talk.
