Business Advisory Senior

Job Ref: 10994

The opportunity you've been waiting for

A chartered accountancy and business advisory firm with over 900 people across the UK are looking for their Business Advisory Senior team member. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, and the advice they give makes a genuine difference.

This Senior role can be hybrid based, in either Glasgow or Stirling, sitting at the heart of client delivery. You'll own a portfolio of accounts, work from start to finish, build real relationships with clients and their teams, and collaborate with specialists across tax and other business lines. It's a role with scope, variety, and a clear path forward.

How you'll make your mark

You'll take responsibility for accounts preparation from end-to-end, clearing review points, finalising files, and making sure every piece of work meets the firm's standards and is delivered on time.

Key deliverables:

  • Prepare draft accounts from client records, clear review points, and finalise files to the firm's required standard.
  • Prepare initial business and personal tax computations, coordinating with tax staff to meet client deadlines.
  • Work alongside the relationship manager to schedule client and internal workloads and set realistic budgets.
  • Monitor time against budget, flagging overruns and issues to the manager early and clearly.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients' staff, keeping them informed of progress while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Identify opportunities to add further value for clients and flag these to the manager.
  • Engage with colleagues across business lines to develop a rounded understanding of each client's business.

What you bring:

  • A background in public practice, with solid experience in accounts preparation.
  • Qualified or near-qualified: AAT, CA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent. Strong experience without a formal qualification will also be considered.
  • Confident using accounting packages, with working knowledge of Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
  • Tax experience is an advantage.
  • The permanent right to work in the UK without restriction. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What's in it for you

The firm offers hybrid and flexible working, with genuine investment in your development. Structured learning programmes support everyone's personal goals, and their leadership development offering is accredited at Masters level by a leading Scottish business school.

Salary and full benefits details are available on application. This is a firm that promotes from within and takes career development seriously.
