Denholm Associates

Assistant Communications Manager

Job Ref: 11051

The opportunity you've been waiting for

A premium spirits portfolio with genuine international reach is looking for someone who can turn a good brand story into a story people actually repeat. This is a role with real range: corporate reputation one day, a product launch across three markets the next.

You'll sit close to senior marketing and communications leaders, working on the campaigns, partnerships and events that shape how these brands are seen and talked about globally. If you've built your craft in a PR or communications agency and you're ready to own more, this is where that happens.

How you'll make your mark

You'll take ownership of media activity across a portfolio of premium brands, from the first story idea through to the coverage it earns.

Key deliverables

  • Build and deliver PR campaigns that generate genuine coverage and conversation across the portfolio.
  • Develop brand narratives and media materials that make journalists want to write the story.
  • Build direct relationships with journalists, media contacts and industry influencers that outlast any single campaign.
  • Plan and deliver press events, media experiences and launch activations that land.
  • Work with brand, marketing and commercial teams to spot the moments worth amplifying.
  • Manage PR agency partners against clear objectives and hold them to it.
  • Contribute to corporate communications activity that builds reputation, not just column inches.
  • Run influencer and advocacy programmes across multiple markets.
  • Create content for digital, social and stakeholder channels that carries the brand voice consistently.

What you bring

  • A track record of delivering PR and communications campaigns that land coverage.
  • Writing and storytelling that holds a reader's attention.
  • Confidence building relationships with journalists and media contacts directly.
  • Experience juggling multiple projects and stakeholders without losing the detail.
  • A commercial understanding of what makes a premium brand distinctive.
  • Agency experience in PR, communications or content marketing, ideally with premium consumer, lifestyle, hospitality, luxury, food and drink or FMCG brands.

What's in it for you

Hybrid working, based in Scotland.

You'll get exposure to global communications planning most communications professionals only see much later in their career, working across international markets on campaigns with real visibility. There's genuine room to grow here, both in scope and in seniority.

A bit more about the company

This is an international premium drinks business with a portfolio of well-known premium spirits brands and a growth agenda to match. The role exists because that growth needs a communications function that can move as fast as the brands themselves, across corporate reputation and consumer-facing campaigns alike.

Denholm's take

Portfolios like this don't come up often, and roles that touch both corporate and consumer communications across international markets are rarer still. If you're an agency-trained communicator ready to go client-side and take on more, we'd like to talk it through with you, in confidence.
