The opportunity you've been waiting for
A Transfer Pricing practice is being built from the ground up inside a firm that already has the client base to fuel it. The pipeline is strong and the leadership backing it is fully committed. What's missing is the specialist who can take the technical lead and help shape the function as it grows.
This is a Manager-level role with genuine scope to influence how the practice develops, not slot into a structure that's already fixed.
How you'll make your mark
You'll take ownership of transfer pricing projects from scoping through to delivery, working directly with international clients on policy design, documentation and economic analysis.
Key deliverables
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of transfer pricing engagements, including scoping, planning, execution and billing.
- Design, implement and review transfer pricing policies for international clients.
- Lead functional analysis interviews and oversee preparation of Local Files and Master Files in line with UK legislation and OECD guidelines.
- Manage economic analyses and benchmarking studies, including cross-border financing, thin capitalisation and interest benchmarking.
- Draft technically robust reports and client deliverables that translate complex analysis into clear commercial advice.
- Build and maintain client relationships as a primary point of contact, spotting opportunities to expand the service offering.
- Work alongside Tax, Audit and Corporate Finance colleagues to deliver joined-up client solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the practice's methodology and processes as it scales.
What you bring
- Professional qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent).
- Demonstrable experience in transfer pricing advisory, in practice or industry.
- Strong working knowledge of UK transfer pricing legislation and OECD guidelines.
- Experience preparing transfer pricing documentation, functional analysis and economic benchmarking.
- Experience with intercompany financing and thin capitalisation analysis.
- Confidence using AI tools to build efficiency into everyday workflows.
What's in it for you
Base location is flexible between Edinburgh and Glasgow, with hybrid and agile working built into the culture rather than bolted on. Salary is available on application and will reflect experience.
- Hybrid working model with flexible hours.
- Private Medical Insurance
- Enhanced parental leave
- Competitive pension scheme
- Clear progression into increased client responsibility and strategic involvement as the practice grows.
Denholm's take
Ground-floor practice builds don't come round often, and this one has the two things that make them worth taking seriously: a genuine pipeline of work and a leadership team who actually want to invest in getting it right. If you want to shape a function rather than maintain one, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
