They need an experienced Payroll Specialist to take ownership of payroll from start to finish.

How you'll make your mark
You'll own payroll end to end. Independently, accurately and on time.
Key deliverables
- Run the full payroll cycle across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, with every employee paid accurately and on time.
- Calculate overtime, shift payments, holiday pay, statutory payments and adjustments for a workforce with varied working patterns.
- Keep payroll records accurate, processing starters, leavers and changes promptly.
- Calculate PAYE, National Insurance, pension contributions and other deductions correctly.
- Complete RTI submissions and HMRC reporting on time, every time.
- Administer workplace pension contributions and keep auto-enrolment compliant.
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies before they reach anyone's payslip.
- Be the trusted point of contact for payroll queries from employees and managers.
- Support payroll reporting and month-end, keeping documentation organised and confidential.
What you bring
- A track record of running end-to-end payroll, ideally using SAGE.
- Experience across multiple payroll frequencies, ideally weekly, fortnightly and monthly.
- Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and workplace pensions.
- Accuracy that holds up when deadlines overlap.
- The instinct to dig into a discrepancy and the patience to resolve it properly.
- Discretion with confidential employee information.
- Availability to start immediately or at very short notice.
Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food production or another operational setting would help, particularly where shift patterns and overtime are part of the picture.
