Employee Relations Business Partner
Location: Edinburgh / Hybrid
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working in partnership with our client to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Business Partner to join their HR team. This is a key role, reporting directly into the HR Director, where you will take ownership of the employee relations strategy and provide expert support across the business.
The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to managers and senior leaders, handling complex ER issues, driving consistency in policy application, and promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary processes, performance issues, and conflict resolution
- Provide expert advice to managers on HR policies, employment law, and best practice
- Manage and coach HR team members involved in ER casework
- Support the development and delivery of training to improve ER capability across the organisation
- Analyse ER trends and provide reports and insights to the senior management team
- Collaborate with HR colleagues, the D&I Manager, and leadership to ensure consistent and fair outcomes
- Monitor employee engagement and support initiatives that enhance wellbeing and morale
- Maintain accurate and confidential ER documentation and case records
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a senior Employee Relations or HR Business Partner role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in handling complex and sensitive ER cases from end to end
- Ability to work independently and confidently with senior stakeholders
- Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD) and a degree in HR or a related field (desirable)
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
