Denholm candidates consistently measure as high potential...

“We have partnered with Denholm for over 15 years and through regular agency reviews they have always remained with us. They work as true partners, understanding our business and our culture. They have evolved with us as our business has changed over the years ensuring that they consistently place the highest quality of candidates with us. When we measure our successful hires through to potential ratings, Denholm candidates are the people who are consistently measuring as “high potential”.

I am sure I could ask one of the Denholm team to share our values and leadership standards with you and they could.”

HR Director, Edrington UK

They continue to challenge themselves to deliver talented people...

"At AG Barr we are very clear about what an individual must have to be successful in our business. The team at Denholm have become firm recruitment partners by doing two things brilliantly. They engage with us in a consistent and appropriate manner, focusing on what's required and being genuinely interested in our business. And they continue to challenge themselves to deliver talented people, this determination to meet our needs has made a real difference to the quality of our team."

- HR Business Partner at AG Barr

I’d have no hesitation in recommending them for senior Executive Search mandates across the board...

"Their marketing-centric approach to the process of Executive Search which Douglas has applied to the wide-ranging headhunting assignment for an Operations and Supply Chain Director has generated an excellent candidate response.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending them for senior Executive Search mandates across the board."

- Managing Director of Innis & Gunn

This was a rare and targeted approach...

"We tried to fill the role directly through an advertising campaign. But this was rare (skillset) and we needed a more targeted approach. We needed someone to embrace the opportunity and apply their experience from other sectors to the arts and have a real understanding for what we do. Denholm undertook a proactive search process, worked tirelessly to ensure the top candidate stayed keen throughout the process and secured an excellent candidate for the role – who (is) having a really positive impact."

- Director of Public Engagement at National Galleries of Scotland

I found the behavioural profiles advantageous and insightful...

"Denholm recently undertook a search process for four critical hires in our marketing team where culture fit was key given the entrepreneurial nature of our business and the dynamic between stakeholders and peers. Despite the challenges of lockdown, Denholm took time to get to know our business and the types of candidate who would thrive and be successful. They undertook an extensive search of the UK market and presented strong shortlists across all roles with behavioural profiling for two of the senior hires. I found the behavioural profiles advantageous and insightful to help confirm my findings in initial interviews, which subsequently led to a more detailed 2nd stage where I could use some of the suggested questioning in the behavioural reports. Denholm moved at pace and were fully supportive throughout the process with regular weekly updates and we are delighted with our candidates."

- CMO at The Loch Lomond Group

The candidates are the best match to the role that I've seen over the years...

The role is unique and the merging of Virgin Money and Clydesdale Bank organisation make this assignment a tricky one. Denholm spent time understanding the business, my newly forming team and the role and delivered high-quality candidates in a short space of time, which significantly exceeded my expectations. The candidates are the best match to a role that I have seen over the years of working with recruitment consultancies."

- Head of Marketing & Strategy Operation, Virgin Money

Denholm’s digital capability, their long-established network and their overall market insight was essential...

Boe Gin has worked in partnership with Denholm over the past 12 months on three specialist commercial roles; Head of On trade, Head of Off trade and International Sales Manager.

Right from the start, they wanted to understand our business and the challenges and ambitions we have to grow our brand in the UK and globally through exports. I felt Denholm really listened to our needs – which helped them produce three very strong shortlists – allowing us to add some top senior drinks talent to the Boe team.

Denholm’s value-add products, such as BrandBox and McQuaig Psychometric testing – as well as their digital capability (particularly during lockdown), their long-established network of drinks contacts and their overall market insight was essential in identifying the right matches for our business.

As Boe continues to go from strength to strength, we hope to have a long and successful partnership with Denholm. Strongly recommended!

Director, Boe Gin

Candidate feedback

Denholm's expertise and personal approach made me feel like I had come to the right place...

“From the first meeting I had with Denholm I felt that I was in extremely good hands. At the same time, I had met with another recruitment agency to help me with my search but very quickly realised that Denholm’s level of professionalism, expertise and personal approach made me feel like I had come to the right place. Most importantly I felt I could trust the team to do the best for me and go about the process in the right way, I have had the opposite experience with other recruitment agencies in the past!
The process started with a detailed conversation not just to help understand what I was looking for and my past experience but it was one that really helped me clarify what would be the best next step in my career. I was massively impressed by the service I received from Denholm and I will certainly be recommending them to anyone looking to progress their career.”

The best recruiters I have worked with...

“Denholm was fantastic from start to finish in helping me to get a new job. Their communication, helpful tips, passion for what they do, flexibility, and relationship with my new employer were all key to ensuring I had the best help possible in getting through the interview stages. Thank you, you were the best recruiters I have worked with!”

Back to work after living abroad...

“I just wanted to thank you for helping me get back into employment after living abroad. Denholm gave great advice and recommendations and took the time to get to know me and understand the kind of role I was looking for. Denholm helped build my confidence and made the process straightforward and enjoyable!”

Career change outside of my comfort zone...

“I undertook a big career change, one that involved a move to an entirely new industry and a step outside my comfort zone. The support, knowledge and genuine enthusiasm in me, my prospective employer and the marketing industry as a whole filled me with confidence. If we all used Denholm we would save a lot of time the first time round!”

The perfect role, after I moved to the UK...

“Denholm helped me find the perfect role after I moved to the UK. Even while I was still back home I always felt like Denholm was working in the background to uncover opportunities and sell me in to prospective employers. They worked to international hours to learn what I was looking for, stay in touch with me and keep me informed throughout the process.”

DATA ENGINEER

Our Purpose

Our aim is to combat illicit online trade by identifying and removing counterfeits for sale. Counterfeits not only damage brands, their reputations, and revenues, but can cause significant harm to the end customer – whether as a fake toy or a fake medicine – and the consequences can be life threatening.

Counterfeiting is a significant economic and social issue.

The OECD reports that counterfeit and fake goods make up more than 3.3% of the world’s global trade. Those involved in the trade of counterfeits have been linked to people trafficking, prostitution, and drug dealing.

As such, reducing illicit trade is about much more than brand protection but also about human rights, safety, and social equity.

And this is what we do, every day.

Our People

Our people are our most important asset, and their mental well-being and happiness are core to our success. We love our diverse workforce, actively embrace flexible working (even pre-pandemic!) and encourage a healthy work-life balance. We have been recognised as one of the most diverse SME workplaces in the UK and are holders of the Scottish Business Pledge which exists to promote a fairer Scotland. We have also just been included in the 2021 Culture Leaders Top 25 – an accolade of which we are very proud!

We are a fully inclusive and nurturing employer and, despite being in tech, the majority of our team are women, leading to accolades in the Computing Magazine Women in IT Awards and the Amazon Growing Business Awards. We currently represent 15 nationalities and speak 20 languages. Age is no barrier, and we recruit for attitude, providing and encouraging appropriate learning and training for each and every role.

We are also proud members of IP Inclusive, a network of professionals working to make the intellectual property industry more diverse.

Our Environment

We deliver purpose-driven work from an extremely welcoming environment near the City Centre. We actively encourage the responsible use of resources, from using public transport to reuse, recycling, and, of course, a minimal impact office environment. We have benefited from the advice of the Energy Saving Trust and Resource Efficient Scotland. Our waste contractor also provides us with a monthly report on volumes and types of material and the carbon emissions avoided through recycling.

Over 80% of our employees can walk or cycle to The Lair and, pre-pandemic, 10% were using public transport as their normal daily commuting mode. Without doubt, online meetings will replace considerable miles, going forward, saving resources, time and energy. Where possible, when possible, the train remains our preferred option.

Our Community

As well as working in close collaboration with our clients, and the online marketplaces, we are active members of groups that have been established to combat illicit trade. These include the Scottish Anti-Illicit Trade Group, the European Intellectual Property Office, The Scottish Business Resilience Centre, the Anti-Counterfeiting Group, and the China Britain Business Council. Members of our senior management sit on the boards of ACID (Anti-Copying in Design), the Scottish Ministerial Trade Board, and the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s Observatory Panel for SMEs, amongst others.

Each team member nominates good causes or charities that are supported on both an individual and corporate basis. Wherever possible, we support the employee’s involvement whether through time or fundraising events.
