Does the idea of leading a dynamic Private Client Tax team in a strategic, high-impact role sound right for you? As Head of Scotland, you will leave a team of industry-leading Private Client Tax Specialists across Scotland, performing an advisory focused, client facing role. In addition to undertaking personal tax planning projects, you will oversee a team of experienced advisers, manage client relationships, and play a critical role in developing new business across the region.

We’re looking for…

  • Senior level experience in advisory work relating to IHT and CGT, family succession and transactions.
  • Professional partnership advisory experience.
  • A good strong tax knowledge of the use of Trusts.
  • A team player who is willing to support the delivery of both compliance and advisory services to clients and a desire to grow and develop our client base.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills with the ability to own a number of senior level relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience working with a diverse client base within the Scottish SME sector (some agricultural and rural client exposure would be an advantage).

Duties…

  • Leading the growing Private Client Tax team for across Scotland, bringing together ideas and driving best practice.
  • Being the lead regional representative for Private Client Tax across the UK and ensuring strong communication at a national level.
  • Partner responsibility for a portfolio which involves both compliance and advisory work.
  • Overseeing a varied portfolio including professional partnerships, landed estates and farms and high net worth individuals.
  • Significant involvement with professional partnerships, including running tax clinics for the partners in each business and assisting with their queries and the overall tax provisioning work.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for Trust experience throughout Scotland.
  • Liaising with other service lines on work referrals.
  • Being the lead partner for IHT reviews, capital taxes work and individual specific matters such as restructuring and transactions.
  • Leading relevant business development activities for Private Client and the wider firm.

Our Purpose

The OECD reports that counterfeit and fake goods make up more than 3.3% of the world’s global trade. Those involved in the trade of counterfeits have been linked to people trafficking, prostitution, and drug dealing.

Communication Advisors

Your key duties will include:

In addition, to be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven background in account handling and direct client liaison – 4 years’ minimum
  • Experience in an agency setting focusing on B2B communication or PR
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • A background in delivering creative, digitally led B2B communications such as LinkedIn campaigns
  • An innate understanding of earned media, with the ability to create stories and generate coverage across traditional media, digital and social
  • Experience working on content management programmes, with an awareness of the changing way business audiences consume information and an appreciation of search, paid and wider customer marketing activity, and how it all fits together
  • A history of working with clients in a variety of sectors is welcomed but experience in the tech and energy industries is advantageous.

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience within an agency or consultancy
  • Experience in Energy, Renewables, Financial Services or Life Sciences would be very desirable
  • Outstanding writing skills and the ability to engage and excite an audience
  • An impressive track record of client attraction, retention and growth 
  • The ability to thrive fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills to motivate and inspire those around you
  • Excellent planning, evaluation and project management skills
