The Opportunity
This is a key leadership role reporting to the People & Development Director. You will lead the HR and Administration teams and take full responsibility for delivering efficient, compliant and people-focused HR services across the organisation.
You will oversee operational HR delivery across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring systems, policies and processes remain robust, compliant and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Operational HR Leadership

Lead and develop the HR and Administration teams

Ensure high-quality service across recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs, employee lifecycle activity and offboarding

Promote accountability, consistency and service excellence
Employee Relations & Compliance

Act as escalation point for complex ER matters

Ensure fair and consistent case management aligned to UK employment legislation and ACAS best practice

Maintain and update policies in line with legal and regulatory requirements

Oversee audit activity, risk logs and data integrity
Resourcing & Workforce Planning

Lead end-to-end recruitment delivery

Support workforce planning and safer recruitment practices

Analyse turnover, vacancy trends and recruitment effectiveness
HR Systems & Continuous Improvement

Manage and optimise Sage People HRIS functionality

Produce meaningful HR metrics and insights for senior leadership

Drive process improvement and operational efficiency
You will also lead HR aspects of change projects, including restructures, policy reviews, system improvements and compliance updates.
About You
You are an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations expertise and a track record of leading teams. You understand operational risk, employment law and how to balance compliance with a positive employee experience.
You will bring:

Significant ER case management experience

Experience improving HR processes and service delivery

Strong HR systems capability and data reporting confidence

CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent experience

A calm, credible and solutions-focused leadership style
Experience within a regulated or care environment would be advantageous.
