We’re working with an ambitious and growing start-up business in the whisky industry that is looking to appoint an Operations & Business Support Executive. This is a broad, hands-on role offering real variety and the chance to play a key part in shaping processes, supporting growth, and driving operational efficiency.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll support across operations, compliance, with an option to play a key role in business development through a network in the whisky industry. You’ll work closely with the Warehouse Manager while also contributing to wider commercial activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and updating the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for all stock movements
- Preparing and submitting monthly HMRC reporting (including W1 documentation)
- Producing weekly stock and warehouse utilisation reports for the MD
- Collaborating with the Warehouse Manager to identify and implement operational improvements
- Building and maintaining a company CRM, managing both existing and prospective contacts
- Ensuring all due diligence documentation is accurate and up to date (EMCS checks, insurance, customer records)
- Developing and maintaining company policies, including H&S, handling procedures, and employee handbook
- Supporting business development activity by engaging with prospective and existing customers
- Attending industry trade events and representing the business
- Visiting client sites across Scotland to strengthen relationships and promote services
- Managing and updating the company LinkedIn presence (desirable)
- Assisting with the creation of marketing materials, price lists, and service documentation
About You
- Experience in an operations, logistics, or business support role
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a small, evolving business environment
- Proactive, with the ability to identify improvements and take initiative
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel across Scotland as required
- Experience with CRM systems and WMS platforms is advantageous
- Exposure to compliance and HMRC reporting would be beneficial
- Marketing or LinkedIn content experience is a bonus, but not essential
